The website Education Magazine the Ministry of Education and Science of Spain is available monograph entitled " Strategic Management of Higher Education: Challenges and Opportunities ", which I posted an article analyzing social responsibility as a major challenge Strategic Management of Higher Education, which proposes a scheme for classifying different forms of expressions that have the concept of MSW in literature as in some specific examples of projects related to this topic currently developing some English universities .
In this article, we identify three broad approaches or perspectives that takes the concept of MSW:
1. Managerial or policy: These positions are concerned with analyzing the impact of university life in society, especially through accountability for their actions and decisions to their stakeholders.
2. Transformational: It is aimed at reviewing the contribution of university life to the necessary discussion and reflection to achieve a more sustainable and just society.
3. Policy: Development of framework of values from the university as a central policy to do the right thing in life in society, by establishing national or global university networks around social responsibility.
An interesting aspect is to analyze the presence of the concept MSW and discourse within the strategic plans of the English universities, which is focused primarily at the level of institutional values and strategic priorities, but low in terms of drafting the mission and vision of each university.

heterogeneity and multiplicity of conceptions of MSW are emergency essential theoretical approaches to facilitate better understanding and application of this concept to university management, becoming a fundamental and essential task for researchers in this issue in the short term.
The identification of different perspectives can RSU universities to properly design policies and strategies relating to this matter, which in the specific case of English universities can become an important support to properly respond to the challenges and demands that the University Strategy 2015 poses in terms of socially responsible behavior as axis or strategic guideline.
The three approaches or perspectives of MSW in this survey, suggest the importance of this concept in the principles of transparency and participation as central guidelines and best practice strategies to be developed in this area.
This fact is important because universities can be "tempted" to maximally simplify the expression of socially responsible behavior, developing a perspective of the instrumental rather because of its strong external financial dependence, but not be due to the existence of an institutional culture of MSW, sustain it mainly on activities related to marketing or accountability towards external certification, repeating the common mistake of a number of companies in the field of CSR.
addition, the actions and strategies developed MSW in Spain show a special orientation towards the preparation of reports based on GRI methodology, for the purpose of accountability to society of its activities of teaching, research and university management, accountability that does not necessarily respond to actions strictly related to the RSU, as usually it is a statement of facts and figures themselves numerical scheme triple bottom line used by businesses.
For this, comes a major challenge to develop methodologies for more accountability in line with university work, because although the GRI is a generic methodology can be adapted to any organization, probably the perspective of the triple bottom line (social , economic and environmental) not adequately cover all areas of work of universities in a context of MSW.
Finally, the existence of integration experiences of English universities to national or international networks around the RSU, show a special line with the requirements of the University Strategy 2015 for projects of Campus Excellence, in terms of -cluster configuration consortia of universities and associated institutions to develop joint actions MSW.
